Ira D. Chenault of Bedford, known to friends and family as “Chig,” passed away Thursday evening at his home at the age of 92.
Born in 1915 in Lawrence County to Felix and Josie Chenault, Chig was a carpenter and retired mechanic from Indiana Limestone, a Navy veteran of World War II, and attended Calvary Chapel Church in Bedford.
He is survived by his wife Alberta, sons Phillip and Ronald, brother Larry, sisters Patty, Margie, Norma Jean and Evelyn, and 5 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kenneth, Felix and Ray, and sisters Mary, Helen and Juanita.
Services will be held tomorrow morning at 11:00am at Cresthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 2:00 until 8:00pm at Cresthaven.
