The Rev. Charles Edward Scalf of Owens Hollow, Kentucky, formerly of Bedford, passed away Thursday night at Marymount Hospital in London, Kentucky at the age of 80.
Born in 1927 in Barbourville, Kentucky to Milda and Rosie Scalf, Charles was a drill sergeant and World War II veteran, pilot, and pastor of Englewood Trinity Pentecostal Church in Bedford for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife, Claudette, 3 daughters, Jeanette, Charlotte and Wanda, his sons Billy, Bobby, Mike, Sam and Tim, sisters Jean and Dora, brothers Gorman and Lester, 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Joyce, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Services will be held this afternoon at 2:00pm at Life Point Church in Bedford with burial to follow at Hayes Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Visitation is from 11:00am until the time of service at the church.
