BNL unified track posts two wins

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence recorded wins over Bloomington North and Bloomfield during unified track action at BNL on Saturday.

The Stars won the meet with 166 points, North was second with 155, and the Cardinals were third with 48.

Winners for BNL included Tanner Robbins (12.35 in the 100-meter dash), Brax Huber (57.67 in the 400), Gunner Connaughton (1:07.72 in the 400 and 38-1.5 in the shot put), BNL’s 400 relay (Huber, Robbins, Philip Matson and Ethan Robinson in 50.63) and Matson (16-7.25 in the long jump).

“These kids lost a close meet against Jasper on Wednesday, but used that loss as a motivation for today,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “We had multiple kids in every event improve on their marks. Even though Bloomington North was short-staffed today (because of the school prom), they came down and gave us a fight just like they do every year.”

BNL will host Edgewood and Bloomington South on Tuesday.
