SPENCER CO. – Secretary of State Holli Sullivan has accepted Spencer County’s plan to become a vote center county.

“It is exciting to see another Indiana county offer flexibility to voters by adopting vote centers. Hoosiers in Spencer County will have more convenience casting their ballots than ever before,” said Secretary of State Holli Sullivan. “Thanks to the hard work and leadership of Clerk Darrell Stephens and the Spencer County Election Board, voting in Spencer County will be straightforward and secure.”

A vote center is a polling location where any Hoosier who is eligible to vote in their county may cast a ballot. Vote centers can reduce costs for counties, increase turnout, provide local election officials more flexibility, and improve overall convenience for voters.

Spencer County will have seven vote center locations across the county for voters to use on Election Day, starting during the 2022 Primary Election.

In Indiana, 56 counties use the vote center model. Click here to see the full list.
