Bloomington Parks & Recreation featuring three nights of glow-in-the-dark fun

BLOOMINGTON – This week the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department is featuring three nights in a row of glow-in-the-dark fun for all ages.

The Parks and Recreation Department will kick things off with its Splash & Glow Party, on Thursday from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with a kid-friendly dance party at the Spray Pad at the Community Foundation Switchyard Plaza.

The event is geared towards children ages 12 and under. The cost is $3 per person.

Kids can romp through the spray pad, which will be all aglow in multicolored lights, and enjoy the “firefly find” a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt throughout the park.

On Friday from 8:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. is the all-ages Glow in the Dark Scavenger Hunt at Switchyard Park.

The cost is $3 per person for those ages 5 yrs. and up; under 5 yrs. are free. Those attending will need to sport their favorite glow-in-the-dark outfit while hunting for clues throughout Switchyard Park for the chance to win a prize.

On Saturday is the department’s annual Glow in the Park all-ages dance party at Waldron Hill and Buskirk Third Street Park.

The cost is $5 a person. Come enjoy live music from DJ Maddog while painting yourself in glow paint and hitting the dance floor illuminated by black lights.
