BEDFORD – ” Rockin On The River For LIFE” will begin at noon Saturday, August 7 and end at 11:00 p.m.
Several bands will be performing during the all-day event bringing attention to the fight against hunger. While listening to the live entertainment you can shop at several vendor booths that will be set up on the Boat Club grounds.
The event is sponsored by Bedford Boat and Sportsman’s Club located at 3916 Pumphouse Road in Bedford.
The event is free for all to attend – But you are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation which will be donated to LIFE Food Pantry.
LIFE Food pantry started in 1987 thanks to several churches combining efforts to make sure that families in need of assistance get help. Lawrence InterFaith Endeavor provides a lifeline for those struggling.
LIFE is supported by more than 40 churches throughout Lawrence County. In addition, LIFE sponsors “Life Blessings” in which each student is given a bag of nutritional food on Fridays to take home to help with food insecurity.
LIFE provides emergency food assistance every thirty days in addition to emergency rent or mortgage/utility assistance.
The food pantry delivers more than 12,000 items each month to families in need.
