Everyday Hoosiers Demand Indiana General Assembly to Protect Hoosier Homes, MomsBabies

(STATEHOUSE) – Everyday Hoosiers from our smallest towns to our biggest cities are gathering at the Indiana Statehouse and on Facebook to demand that our state legislature take action to protect Hoosier homes, moms, and babies.

They are asking that the Indiana House of Representatives protect Hoosier homes by stopping SEA 148, passing HB 1219, and passing HB 1358.

Last year, the Governor vetoed SEA 148, a bill that will worsen Indiana’s housing crisis and increase homelessness during a global pandemic.

HB 1219, protects Hoosier homes by establishing a housing court.

HB 1358 protects pregnant Hoosier workers and new Moms from harmful working conditions.

At the press conference, on Wednesday, Feb. 10th at 11 a.m. a diverse set of Hoosier leaders from across the state will share their stories on how these issues directly impact their lives.

The press conference will be held at the Indiana Statehouse on the 2nd Floor North Atrium and live-streamed online.

Guess speakers include:

  • April Lopossa, Morgan County Hoosier Action Leader
  • Barbara Anderson, Haven House & Clark County Cares
  • Carolyn King, Clark County Cares
  • More speakers to be announced soon
