Johnny Bill Barlow, 68, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020, at his residence.
Born July 16, 1952, in Mitchell, he was the son of William M. Barlow and Joanne (Dalton) Ryder. He married Brenda Joyce Harper March 2, 1970, and she preceded him in death July 30, 2014.
John was a self-employed carpenter and a hardworking man. He loved his family and had been saved at this residence.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Survivors include his children, Rebecca (Patrick) Walls of Bedford; John William (Lisa) Barlow of Bedford; mother and stepfather, Richard and Joanne Ryder of Vincennes; grandchildren, Lacey Barlow, Brianna Barlow, Marcus Hackney, and Makayla Tincher; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Michelle (Ryder) (Paul) Grebel of Nashville, Tennessee, Denise Barlow of New York City, Lonnie Barlow of Terre Haute, Cheryl Reeder of Vincennes
His father and wife preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
