(MITCHELL) – The Lions Club Chicken BBQ will be held on October 24th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (or until they run out) at the Ben Franklin Parking Lot located at 1206 W. Main Street in Mitchell.
A total of 128 dinners will be served for $10 each, which will include 1/2 BBQ chicken with baked beans, coleslaw, and drink.
When the Lions Club started building wheelchair ramps the organization did not know how successful a project it would be.
The ramp building project has not only been one of the most popular, but one of the most satisfying for members in the long history of the club.
The Lions Club did not imagine the number of appreciative individuals they would assist and the impact of the project would have on those people lives.
The Lions Club donates their labor in the construction of the ramps and the Club also contributes a portion of expenses to the building materials from the ramp building fund if the family is unable to afford the cost.
In the last five years, the Lions Club has provided clothes for students attending Hatfield and Burris Elementary Schools. The Lions Club also buys eyeglasses if an individual does not have the money to purchase a pair themselves.
Mark your calendars October 24th and support the yearly fundraiser for the Lions Club.
