(SEYMOUR) – Work is progressing on the $15 million pavement reconstruction contract along U.S. 50 in Seymour. A number of traffic switches and shifts have taken place since construction began in April, with another planned for Friday (Oct. 2).
U.S. 50 from Agrico Lane to Sandy Creek Drive
On or after Friday, all traffic will be moved to the westbound side of U.S. 50 between Agrico Lane and Sandy Creek Drive as crews begin reconstruction work on the eastbound side of the roadway. This will put all traffic on the westbound corridor throughout project limits, from Dupont Drive to U.S. 31, with two travel lanes in each direction and turn lanes available at Myers Street. Access will be maintained for all residences and businesses located on the south side of U.S. 50. This configuration will remain in place through late fall or early winter.
I-65 Ramps and Temporary Signals
Temporary signals will remain in place and all four cloverleaf ramps at I-65 will stay closed during this phase of construction. Motorists should utilize the temporary ramps and signals to access I-65.
- I-65 SB to U.S. 50 EB: Cloverleaf ramp closed, traffic will use temporary ramp and signal at I-65 SB to U.S. 50 WB
- U.S. 50 EB to I-65 NB: Cloverleaf ramp closed, traffic will use temporary ramp and signal at U.S. 50 WB to I-65 NB

Intersection improvements at U.S. 31 and bridge painting are also included in the contract. The intermediate completion date is October 31, 2021, with activity continuing through June 2022.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones. All work is weather dependent.
