June 7, 2020 – June 17, 1941,
Vicki Jo Mitchell passed away Sunday, June 7th at IU Health Hospice House
in Bloomington after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born June 17, 1941, in Peru, IN and was preceded in death by her
parents Marvin Day and Helen Estep.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bedford. Vicki retired from the Times Mail after more than 40 years of service in the business department, having served as the Office Manager and Controller.
She then worked for Jim Wilhite Optometry for more than 10 years and said “that it was the best job she ever had”.
Vicki loved to travel, always had a positive outlook, and was a great friend to many!
Surviving are her children, Scott Fender of Bedford, Tracy (Bryan) Daugherty of Sandborn, and Pam Fields of Dundee, FL; grandchildren Haley Fender of Mitchell, Charlie (Trisha) Murphy of Bedford, Brandy Queen of Dundee, FL, and Shelby Kiffer of Dundee, FL; great-grandchildren Carter Turpin of Mitchel, and Colby and Owen Murphy of Bedford.
Also, special friend Don Hudson of Bedford, and her furry friend Joey.
Cremation was chosen. A celebration of life will be held on June 28, 2020
from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Mixing Bowl at 641 X Street in Bedford.
