Warden Frances Osburn Retires After 35 Years Of Dedicated Service

(EDINBURGH) – Frances Osburn is a veteran employee of the Indiana Department of Correction with over 35 years of experience.

She began her career in 1985 as a Correctional Officer at the Indiana Youth Center, now referred to as Plainfield Correctional Facility. She quickly promoted through the ranks to Correctional Captain, Unit Team Manager, and Deputy Warden.

Osburn’s resume includes titles of Assistant Warden at Putnamville Correctional Facility, Warden at the Indianapolis Juvenile Correctional Facility , housing both male and female offenders, Director of Mental Health and Special Populations, and Warden of Edinburgh Correctional Facility. She is a member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Committee and has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Indiana University and a Master of Science Management Degree from Oakland City University.

Some of Mrs. Osburn’s interests outside the agency include travel and quilting. She is a lifetime member of VFW Post #1257 and American Legion Post #230, both located in Martinsville, Indiana.

Warden Osburn retired from the Indiana Department of Correction on April 30, 2020. Her experience and leadership will be missed by all.
