Bedford Man Arrested After Stealing Vehicle

(BEDFORD) – While on patrol in the area of State Road 37 and Brock Lane Friday night, a Bedford Police officer ran the plate of a vehicle in front of him and received a notification that the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Joshua Mills

The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, 41-year-old Joshua Mills, of 2833 Earl Rd.

“The officer explained that the vehicle had been reported stolen and asked Mills why he was driving it,” said Chief Terry Moore.  “Mills denied knowing about the vehicle being reported stolen and that a friend sold it to him after receiving it from the registered owner.”

While searching the vehicle officers located two syringes that tested positive for meth.

Police arrested Mills on charges of auto theft, possession of meth, and unlawful possession of a syringe.
