Power Outage at IU Bloomington Campus

(BLOOMINGTON) – The power went out in 55 buildings at Indiana University’s Bloomington Campus after an over surge at a Duke substation off campus just before 10:15 a.m. Friday.

The over surge caused a small fire at the substation melting an important cable.

The incident resulted in 55 buildings at the campus to lose power including many academic/administration buildings and a residence hall.

Power was restored around 9 p.m. Friday.
