(BEDFORD) – Lawrence County conducted a Tax Sale Tuesday morning at the Lawrence County Courthouse.
A total of 103 properties were available for auction with a total of $174,576.32 owed in back taxes.
SRI Inc. conducted the tax sale in the lobby of the courthouse.
The property owner must be at least three installments delinquent for their property to be listed in a tax sale.
Tuesday’s Auction sold a total of 55 properties, with a total of $817,510.85 bid on those properties.
“Everything went well during the sale,” said Lawrence County Treasurer Paula Stewart. “SRI Inc. is great to work with.”
Those bidding on the properties are expected to pay cash the day of the sale or present certified funds.
The property owner has one full year to redeem their property.
But to redeem that property, the owner must not only present the sale price but catch up on the delinquent taxes and pay all applicable fees relating to the sale.
