(BEDFORD) – Officials say 151 properties are on the auction block for Tuesday’s Lawrence County Tax Sale to collect back taxes.
SRI Inc. is conducting the sale for the county at 10 a.m. at the Lawrence County Courthouse.
Lawrence County Treasurer Paula Stewart says a total of $292,675.92 is owed in delinquent taxes. To be included in the tax sale, property owners must be at least three installments delinquent.
Those bidding on the properties are expected to pay cash the day of the sale or present certified funds. The current property owner has one full year to redeem the property.
But to redeem that property, the owner must not only present the sale price but catch up the delinquent taxes and pay all applicable fees relating to the sale.
