Indiana State Police Assisting in Officer-Involved Shooting on Greer Lane

(SPRINGVILLE) –  Indiana State Police detectives were called to assist in an officer-involved shooting on Greer Lane in Springville Saturday night.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Saturday at a residence near Indian Creek Church Camp Road.

Officers have confirmed one person is dead.

According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Curt Durnil, their detectives were requested around 10 p.m. to assist the Lawrence County Police Department in the incident.

The name of the victim has not been released by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department nor have the names of the officer or officers involved.

Greer Lane was closed for several hours while police were on the scene investigating the incident.
