(DAVIESS CO.) – At 10:15 a.m. today, Indiana State Police and Daviess County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on County Road 1225 East near County Road 1400 North that claimed the life of an Odon man.
According to an ISP report, 58-year-old Lance Parsons, of Odon, was driving his 2012 Chevrolet Spark south on CR 1225 East when for unknown reasons drove left of center at a hillcrest approximately 1700 feet south of CR 1400 North and collided head-on with a 2005 Pontiac Montana mini-van that was traveling north.
Parsons was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
The driver of the Pontiac, 48-year-old Julie Wintergerst, of Odon, was transported to IU Health Hospital in Bloomington where she is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Wintergerst was wearing a seat belt.
