Police: Indiana Man Flees Police with 5 Children in His Car

(EVANSVILLE) — State police say an Evansville man fled a traffic stop before leading a trooper on a pursuit with five children inside his van.

Twenty-five-year-old Andrew Glenn Caldwell was arrested Friday on one count of resisting law enforcement and misdemeanor reckless driving.

Caldwell allegedly fled from a trooper on July 23 when that officer tried to stop him for an unsafe lane change. He allegedly drove as fast as 50 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone, running a stop sign and two stoplights before the trooper ended the pursuit for public safety reasons.

Investigators say five children, ages two to 12, were in Caldwell’s van.

He was later identified and arrested. Caldwell remains jailed on bond and online court records don’t list an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
