Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Shooting

(DALE) – Indiana State Police say a male sustained life-threatening injuries in a shooting during a holiday gathering near Dale on Saturday.

Indiana State Police and the Spencer County Sheriff’s Department responded around at 3:15 a.m. on Spencer County Road 225 East just west of Dale after reports of shots fired.

According to police, several individuals were attending a holiday fireworks gathering when an argument occurred. During that argument, a firearm was brandished and one adult male was shot resulting in life-threatening injuries.

The type of weapon and number of shots fired are not being released at this time. Investigators are also trying to determine the identity of the person or persons involved.

Spencer County Emergency Medical Services and the Carter Fire District Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
