Tiarra Taylor Crowned New Miss Indiana

(TERRE HAUTE) – Tiarra Taylor has been crowned the new Miss Indiana.

Taylor represented Indiana State University as Miss ISU, and now she will represent Indiana for the next year.

The 21-year-old was selected as Miss Indiana on Saturday from a field of 36 contestants at the Zionsville High School Performing Arts Center.

Taylor is a social studies education major at Indiana State. Her Miss Indiana platform focuses on bringing advantages to disadvantaged youth.

It was the New Albany native’s third state pageant. She previously competed as Miss ISU in 2018 and in 2019 as Miss Harvest Homecoming, a program based in her hometown. She said the key to her success was simply being herself.

She will go on to the Miss America competition to be the face of the Hoosier state.

The Miss America pageant is September 9th, 2019.
