Body Found In White River In Morgan County Identified

(MORGAN CO.) – The unidentified body located in the White River just north of the State Road 144 Bridge on June 2 has been identified through an autopsy as Terrance Williams of Indianapolis, according to Morgan County Coroner Annette Burcher.

Williams has been missing since May 25 when he was last observed floating alongside his capsized canoe in the White River north of 16th Street near the Lake Indy boat ramp.

Burcher has preliminarily identified the cause of death to be drowning.

At approximately 10:46 a.m., on June 2, Morgan County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call stating a body had been located in the White River near the State Road 144 Bridge. A Morgan County Deputy arrived on scene and confirmed the body.

The witness stated they were walking along the river bank when they observed what they believe to be a body.
