Oleta E. McCart
December 22, 1931 – November 1, 2018
Oleta E. McCart, (Mrs. Oleta), 86, of Bedford, died at 2:18 am on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at
Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born December 22, 1931, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Luther and Ruby (Flinn) Brown. She married Buddy Lee Stancombe and he preceded her in death. She married Dale McCart on July 9. 1988 and he preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Tunnelton High School and the Indiana Beauty College. She was the director for the House of James Beauty College for over twenty-five years. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church and their Merry Widows Club.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Stancombe and wife, Nancy, and Greg Stancombe and wife, Julie, all of Bedford;
a daughter, Laura Ragone, and husband, Mike, of Pensacola, FL; eight grandchildren, Darren, Daniel, Derek,
and Jessica Stancombe, Jennifer McLeod, Travis Ragone, Jared and Tyler Stancombe; seven great-grandchildren;
three brothers, Jerry Brown, and wife, Cathy, Danny Brown and Terry Brown and wife, Sylvia, all of Bedford; a sister,
Connie Scott and husband, Joe, of Bedford; a sister-in-law, Delpha Brown and daughter-in-law, Donnette Stancombe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, Clifton Stancombe; two brothers, Frank, and Donnie Brown; a sister, Loretta Garrett, and a grandson, Jeffrey Scott Clampitt.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ronnie McLain and Pastor Mike Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Robert “Bob” McCain
December 31, 1927 – October 31, 2018
Robert “Bob” McCain, 90, of Bedford, died at 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born December 31, 1927, in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Clarence and Lula Pearl (Peyton) McCain. He married Bonnie J. Mann on September 13, 1950 and she survives. He retired from the Indiana State Highway Department as a surveyor. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the Merchant Marines and U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Model A Club. He was an avid Nascar enthusiast, he loved to restore cars and watch basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, of Bedford; four daughters, Robbie Wrege and husband, Reed, of Georgetown, IN, Sherry Hughes and husband, Arnold, Donna Pritchett and husband, Scott, and Melissa Kissinger and husband, Dennis, all of Bedford; a son he never had, (great nephew) Todd Johnson; eight grandchildren, Michael Wrege and wife, Emily, Chad Hughes and wife, Heather, Megan Hawk and husband, Nate, Mallory and Hannah Pritchett, Brock, Hallie and Maddy Kissinger; six great-grandchildren, Stella and Molly Wrege, Chloe Hughes, Ethan Humphrey, Addison and Corbin Hawk; a brother, Kenneth McCain and wife, Juanita, of Elizabethtown, IN; a sister, Barbara Peyton and husband, Jack, of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Clay Wrege; two brothers, Paul and Ernest McCain; four sisters, Frances Turpen, Helen Reynolds, Ruth Rainey, and Marie Jackson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Nathan Sundt officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday, November 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Bernard William “Bud” Smith

Bernard William “Bud” Smith, 78, of Bedford, died at 10 p.m. pm on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at his
residence.
Born July 3, 1940 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Herman William and Dola Maxine “Tabby” (Bartlett) Smith.
He married Shirley Murphy on July 8, 1961 and she survives. He was a self-employed truck driver and farmer.
He was a member of the Barlettsville Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of Bedford; two daughters, Michelle Cornett and husband, Dennis, of Williams, and Lisa Daab and husband, Tim, of Bedford; Fred P. Donica, of Bedford; four grandchildren, Britney Baker and husband, Brett, Whitney Chastain and husband, Justin, Lacie Huber and husband, Rocky, and Jade Daab, and fiancé, Peyton Flynn, all of Bedford; eight great grandchildren, Jaxsen and Fynley Baker, Kinzley and Klaire Chastain, Blayton Chaillaux, and Raiden Riggle, Alayna Huber and Xander Huber; a brother, Barry Don “Buck” Smith and wife, Sharon, of Bedford; a sister, Brenda Louise Hillenburg and husband, Bob, of Heltonville; several nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at Noon on Saturday, November 3 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Tim Day officiating. Burial will follow in Bartlettsville Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 2 and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Pallbearers are: Dennis Cornett, Tim Daab, Jade Daab, Brett Baker, Justin Chastain, Jim Hillenburg, Dale McIntyre, and Bill Maddox.
