Icis May Gore – Bedford
July 8, 1927 – January 27, 2018
Icis May Gore, 90, of Bedford, died at 4:27 am on Saturday, January 27 2018 at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born July 8, 1927 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Everett Bert and Maggie (Craig) Brock. She married James W. “Banty” “Peppers” Gore on September 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2016. She had worked at Crane Depot and also the shirt factory of Relliance Manufacturing and was a housewife for many years.
Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Cox of Bedford, Sheryl Myers and husband Stephen of Bedford, Patsy Wheeler and husband George of Bedford; two sons, Danny Joe Gore and wife Laura of Bedford, Joseph Gore and wife Crissy of Bedford; twelve grandchildren, Shelly Rainey, James Cox, Valarie Lovell, Jayce Shifflett, Onis Wheeler, Kenya Wheeler, Seith Wheeler, Steven Gore, Samuel Gore, Riley Gore, Gavin Gore, and Brad Myers; twenty-three great grandchildren; two great -great grandchildren; one brother, Roy Lee Brock and wife Regina; four sisters, Emma Sue Cagle, Virginia Ruth Charles and husband Jack, Barbara Jo Southern and husband Larry, and Bonnie Gail Lynch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Maggie Brock; her husband, James W. “Banty” “Peppers” Gore; one son, Alan Gore; one grandson, Joshua Wheeler; one great grandson, Noah Gore; five brothers, Marvin Bert, Robert Eugene, Fred Wayne, Willie Dale, and Home Dean Brock; four sisters, Joy Helen Hacker, Anna Pearl Williams, Ruby Lorena George, and Sharon Rose Brock; and a son-in-law, John Cox.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery in Silverville. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.

Betty Feather – Bedford
November 28, 1930 – January 25, 2018
Betty Feather, 87, of Bedford, died at 1:24 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born November 28, 1930 in Spring Creek, NC, she was the daughter of John and Bertha (Bridges) Woody. She married Byron Feather on May 7, 1960 and he survives. She was a homemaker who enjoyed golf, traveling, visiting casinos, and having coffee with her friends. She loved spending time with her grandkids and attending their sporting events.
Survivors include her husband, Byron, of Bedford; a daughter, Sandra Craig and husband, Jim, of Bedford; a son, Larry Cole and wife, Veronica, of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Neil Craig and wife, Magen, Reece Craig, Logan Cole and wife, Meghan, Lauren Albert and husband, Jake, and Olivia Cole and fiancé, Ryan Dickey; two sisters, Bonnie Viers, of Ohio and Martha Kiser and husband, George, of Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings.
A brief memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Kerry Alan George – Owensburg
September 9, 1950 – January 26, 2018
Kerry Alan George, 67, went home to be reunited with his Lord on January 26, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Kerry was known for his love of family and his dedication to God and his church.
Kerry was born to Robert Dean and Marilyn Jeanette (Armstrong) George on September 9, 1950 and was raised in Owensburg, IN. He graduated from Eastern Greene High School and then spent more than 30 years working for the Rogers Group of Bedford and was a member of the Local #741 Laborers and Hod Carriers Union. He attended the Owensburg Baptist Church where he spent many years as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and moderator where he often started service with the phrase, “God is good all the time.”
Kerry was blessed with a loving family. He married the love of his life, Coleen Boler, on December 2, 1973. Together they created a happy home in which they raised three children whom made him so very proud. He also enjoyed being a “Papaw” to his grandchildren and loved watching them at their school performances and cheering them on during their sporting adventures.
In his free time, Kerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. He never sat idle and was always helping other people.
Kerry is dearly missed by his loved ones. They take comfort in knowing that he is in Heaven and that his body has been restored. He is survived by his wife, Coleen; children Valerie (Patrick) Ault of Bloomington, Timothy (Dr. Julie Shaff) George of Bloomfield, Heather (Zach) Myers of Greenwood; grandchildren Zoie and Maddox Ault, Addison George, Thomas and Katherine Myers, and Lauren and Owen Shaff. Kerry is also survived by his dear mother, Marilyn George of Owensburg, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert “Bob” George, and siblings Kristy Crohn and Kirby George, and nephew Devin George.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30th at Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford, with Kenny Adams and Jay Collins officiating. Kerry will be laid to rest in the Owensburg Cemetery in Owensburg, IN. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, January 29th from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday, January 30th from 10 a.m. until the hour of service time. Memorial contributions can be made to the Owensburg Baptist Church.
