Billie “Bill” P. O’Neal – Bedford
Bill P. O’Neal, 76, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord at 7:03 am on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born October 16, 1937 in Monroe Co., he was the son of Winford and Goldie (Chambers) O’Neal. He married Dana
Nikirk on January 29, 1960 and she survives. He retired from Rogers Group as a superintendent after thirty-eight years. He was a founding member of Grace Full Gospel Church where he served as Secretary/Treasurer and Trustee for twenty-two years. He was a member of Kiwanis Club International and a Boy Scout leader.
Survivors include his wife, Dana, of Bedford; their children, Terri Sykes and husband, Leon, of Springville, Brent O’Neal of Bedford, Paula Johnson and husband, Scott, of Bedford, Stacy O’Neal and wife, Chera, of Bedford; grandchildren, Curtis, Chris, April, Derek, Brittany, Matthew, Lane and A.J.; great grandchildren, Kallista, Kayleigh, Coby, Xavier, Aiden and Shaylynn; a sister, Janet Clements and husband, David and their daughter, Tammy of Cambridge City, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rex O’Neal.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Friday, August 29th at the Grace Full Gospel Church with Rev. Brent O’Neal and Bruce Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, August 28th and from 9:30 until the hour of service on Friday, August 29th
at the Grace Full Gospel Church.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions in Bill’s memory to the Grace Full Gospel Church.

C.R. Miracle – Mitchell
C. R. Miracle, 78, of Mitchell, passed away at 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, at the First Baptist Church.
Memorial gifts can be made in C.R.’s memory to the First Baptist Church or Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.
Larry G. Ayers – Mitchell
Larry G. Ayers, 74, of Mitchell, died Monday, August 25, 2014 at his residence.
Born December 19, 1939 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Lawrence and Mary (Lafferty) Hatfield. He married Mary Pemberton on December 19, 1977 and she survives. He served in the Indiana National Guard then served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years. He retired in 1976 as a Petty Officer First Class from the U.S. Navy after seventeen years. He was a radar repairman at NWSC Crane for twenty years retiring in 1997. He had worked at Walmart as a greeter and was known as the “sticker man”. He was a charter member of the Stargazer Astronomy Club, a member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion and former member of ABATE.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Mitchell; a daughter, Melissa Sergent and husband, Jay, of Mitchell; a son, Richard Ayers of Bedford; three grandchildren, PFC Zachary Verseman of Ft. Bragg, NC, Richard Ayers-Sergent and Derrick Ayers both of Bedford; three great grandchildren, Tristan, Haley and Kamron; three sisters, Janet Patton and Robin Hatfield both of Bedford and Holly Chaput of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Edward Hatfield both of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Dayton Hall and a brother, Mark Hatfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 pm on Thursday, August 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Frank Ira officiating. Military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 2 pm until the hour of service on Thursday, August 28th. Casual dress is requested.

Iris Lorene Fry – Huron
Iris Lorene Fry, 93, of Huron, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2014, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born March 13, 1921, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Roscoe and Florence (Qualkenbush) Powell. She married Willard Bridges and he preceded her in death. Her second marriage was to Charles Fry who also preceded her in death.She retired from Stone City Products. Iris was a member of the Huron Church of God, the Missionary Society, and WTK Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet Sue (Rex) Stroud, Bedford; grandchildren, Jason Bridges, Tami Wilson; 4 great grandchildren
Her parents; husbands; son, Gary L. Bridges; step daughter, Norma Ritchison; and siblings, Earl Powell, Doris Busick, and Donna Ruth McCracken, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, August 29, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
