Frances Tolbert – Mitchell
Frances Tolbert, 77, of Mitchell, passed away at 7:53 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born June 13, 1934, in Chevrolet, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Nathaniel and Sallie (Scott) Ely. She married Willis E. Tolbert March 3, 1956, and he preceded her in death February 17, 2003. She was previously employed at RCA and was a member of the Mitchell Senior Citizens.
Survivors include, daughters, Kathy M. and husband Dwight Dunbar, of Mitchell, Beth A. and husband Cary Doub, of Mitchell; grandchildren, Amanda L. Dunbar and husband Chris Blais, Joshua D. Dunbar, Christopher L. Doub, and Nicholas C. and wife Lindsay Doub; great grandchildren, Jasmine, Jaida, and Jaxyn Blais; sisters, Wanda McFarland, of Cincinnati,
Pauline Ely, Dryden, of Virginia, Ricki Music, of Tennesse; brothers, Sam Ely, of Mitchell,
Homer Ely, of Mitchell, Nathaniel Ely, of Mitchell, Arnold Ely, of Pennington Gap, Virginia; special friend, Edward Kenneth Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Dorothy Zeeks and Alline Spears, Barbara Ely, and Judith Ely; and brothers, James, Tom, Britt, Tony, Dewey, and David Ely.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
