Ray O. Davis Jr. – Bedford
Ray O. Davis Jr. of Bedford passed away Sunday morning, August 29th at his residence at the age of 43. Born in 1966 in Marion County to Ray and Ruby Davis, he had been married to Shana Baxter since 2004. He is survived by his wife; three step-sons, Joshua Stevens, Zachary Stevens and Dustin Stevens; as well as several grandchildren and one sister, Rhonda Davis. Memorial services will be held at a later date under the direction on Day & Carter Mortuary.
John Lisker Miller – Mitchell
John Lisker Miller of Mitchell passed away Tuesday morning, August 31st at his residence at the age of 76. Born in 1933 in Lawrence County to Cleo and Alta Cleophus Miller, he had been married to Joann Harrison since 1959, was retired from Central Foundry and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by companion, Osa Misuraca; daughters, Susan Stefaniak and her husband Gary, Karen Ann Lee and her husband Tim; sons, Steven Miller and David Miller; one sister, Loraine Chastain and her husband Hollace and one brother, William Miller and his wife Kennetha; as well as several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother, Ansel Miller. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, September 4th in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 9107. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday and from 9:00AM until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
