Jack E. Williams, 71, Mitchell

Jack E. Williams of Mitchell passed away Sunday morning at his home at the age of 71.


Born in 1936 in Cloverdale to Rubert and Dorothy Williams, Jack worked for Burgess-Norton Manufacturing in Geneva, IL, becoming president in 1986 and retiring in 1991 and returning to Mitchell, served as vice chairman of Junior Achievement’s Fox Valley District, was an executive member of Two River Council BSA, Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 37, and member of Order of the Arrow Glikhikan Lodge 106, and active in the Geneva Community Chest, and Men’s Foundation of Delnor-Community Hospital, and became a member of First Baptist Church in Mitchell, and American Legion Post 250 Honor Guard.
He is survived by his wife Judith and son Jackson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Virginia.
Services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00pm at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home in Mitchell with burial to follow at Lawrenceport Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00pm Wednesday and againf from 10:00am until time of service Friday at Chastain.
