BEDFORD – Indiana State Police arrested a Bedford man on three felony counts of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor.
Police detained 20-year-old Zaquery Starnes.

According to ISP Detective Robert Whyte, on Tuesday, March 19, he met with Officer Anderson of the Mitchell Police Department to discuss a case he wanted ISP to investigate.
Police learned a 14-year-old was possibly in a sexual relationship with Zaquery Starnes.
The teen’s mother said Starnes had been caught at her home several times in January 2024 while she was at work. The mother had confronted Starnes via messages about the inappropriate relationship with her daughter. Starnes admitted in messages he was involved in a sexual relationship with the teen when she was 13 and he was 19.
Starnes told police he met the teen on Snapchat, and the girl had lied about her age saying she was 16.
