Tiffany Ann Porter – Mitchell
Tiffany Ann Porter, 36, of Mitchell, passed away at 5:14 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at her home.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
Alma M. Herbert – Bedford
Alma M. Herbert, 72, of Bedford, passed away at 5:05 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2012 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
Born May 8, 1940 in Sunman, IN, she was the daughter of Lawrence Dierckman and Marie (Federle) Dieckman.
She was retired from service in several Lawrence County Offices and was currently working part-time in the Lawrence County Clerk’s Office. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church; a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Store; and was a board member with the Mitchell, IN Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynn and husband Joe Stowell, of Cincinnati, OH; one son, Rod and wife Bridgett Herbert, of Fort Wayne, IN.; four grandchildren, Ann Herbert, of Baltimore, MD., Audrey Herbert, of Chicago, IL., Emily and Benjamin Herbert, of Fort Wayne; five sisters, Thelma Rose Shornick, of Milan, IN, Evelyn Hornberger, of Sunman, Anna Mae Callahan, of St. Leon, IN, Myrtle Hildebrand, of Sunman and Carol Jean Knue, of Waco, TX; 3 brothers, Arnold Dierckman, of Sunman, Ronald Dierckman, of FL and Roger Dieckman, of Holton, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September, 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Sunman, IN at 3 p.m. Friday. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Janice Holmes- Springville
Janice Holmes, 74, of Springville, passed away at 4:54 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at her home.
Born January 8, 1938, she was the daughter of Estel and Nancy (Flynn) Turner. She married Keith Holmes on November 7, 1956 and he survives.
She was a graduate of Needmore High School with the class of 1956. She retired from RCA, after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Bethel Christian Church and loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Keith of Springville; one son, Garry Holmes, of Springville; three grandsons, Ricky Holmes and wife Robin, of Springville, Eric Holmes and wife, Cherie, of Heltonville and Devon Holmes, of Bedford; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Cruz, C’aira and Celina.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Darrell Turner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Self officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowder Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, September 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Charles G. Ragsdale – Bedford
Charles G. Ragsdale, 90, of Bedford, passed away at 1:18 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born February 11, 1929 in Bedford, he was the son of Charles O. and Nellie P. Ragsdale. He first married Dorothy I. Lawhead and she passed away on July 12, 1969; he then married Anne Duncan and she passed ways on April 7, 2007.
He was a maintenance worker at GM Powertrain, Bedford, retiring in 1985. He was a member of First Christian Church and the U.A. W. Local 440.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan and husband John Dowling, of Bedford and Lori and husband Tony Ellett, of Bloomington; two sons, Stephen Duncan, of Springville and Harry Scott Duncan and wife Dee, of Bedford; one daughter-in-law Carolyn Ragsdale, of Bedford; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grand children and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, both spouses, one son, Michael E. Ragsdale and one brother, Mansil G. Ragsdale.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Calvert-Rosenberger officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
