City seeks resident input on internet access, affordability, and digital skills

BLOOMINGTON – In the coming days, the City of Bloomington will mail a survey to 6,000 randomly selected households.

Residents who receive the survey can be assured that it is an official City initiative and are encouraged to complete it. The survey covers internet access and affordability, devices, and digital skills and will help guide the City’s efforts to improve digital opportunity across Bloomington.

The City first conducted this survey in 2020, the first of its kind in Indiana. Those findings informed the City’s 2020 Digital Opportunity Strategic Plan. The community survey will help identify remaining gaps and priorities to update the plan.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and all responses are confidential. Participation is limited to households that receive an invitation, allowing the City to gather statistically reliable results.
