BLOOMFIELD -Saeben Arce scored three second-half goals as Bedford North Lawrence conquered Bloomfield 7-1 during boys high school soccer action on Saturday.
After battling to a 2-1 lead at halftime, Arce’s hat trick, plus goals by Barrett Holtz and Ezra Clark (back from an injury), allowed the Stars (5-9) to pull away.
“I couldn’t find my shot in the first half,” Arce said. “In the second half, I started to feel it.”
Holtz and Ian Wilcher (on a penalty kick) produced goals in the first half.
”When we pushed to score, our passing got us opportunities,” BNL’s Weston Holtz said.
”The team played well, embodying the three principals we emphasize,” BNL coach Reeve Arce said. “They’ve been on a path the last few weeks, embodying the style of soccer that will make them successful. We’re very proud of them.”
BNL will learn its sectional fate when the IHSAA announces the tournament pairings on Sunday. The Stars will visit Mooresville on Tuesday.
