PENDLETON – Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott has announced the assignment of Trooper Hanna Tinch to serve as a Detective in the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Trooper Tinch competed in the selection process, which included a written test, an oral interview, and an overall evaluation of work performance.
Detective Tinch is a native of Grant County, Indiana, and graduated from Mississinewa High School in 2016. After graduation, she went on to further her education at Anderson University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. In 2019, Detective Tinch participated in and successfully completed the Internship Program with the Indiana State Police.
In 2020, Detective Tinch graduated from the 80th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Pendleton District. While at the Pendleton District, Tinch was assigned to primarily patrol in Delaware, Madison, and Randolph Counties. During her assignment at Pendleton, Tinch was certified as a Background Investigator, Field Training Officer, Tac-Med Instructor, a member of the Wellness Team, and trained to investigate Internet Crimes Against Children cases. In 2026, Detective Tinch was a co-recipient of a letter of commendation for her work on the Wellness Team. In 2026, Tinch also completed a temporary duty assignment in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
In her new role, Detective Tinch will continue to actively investigate individuals who would seek to utilize the internet to sexually exploit or entice children.
