Indiana State Police – Dayshift troopers highlight Labor Day weekend success

FT. WAYNE – The Indiana State Police (ISP) Fort Wayne District day-shift troopers saw strong enforcement and proactive engagement over the Labor Day weekend, emphasizing ISP’s commitment to safe travel for everyone on Indiana’s roadways.

Over the course of the holiday weekend, dayshift troopers had 124 traffic contacts, resulting in:

  • 46 Citations issued
  • 78 Warnings written

Troopers maintained a strong focus on occupant protection and dangerous driving behaviors, including:

  • 9 Seatbelt citations
  • 4 Child restraint citations
  • 21 Citations for moving violations
  • 63 Warnings for moving violations

These results reflect ISP’s ongoing mission to reduce crashes, prevent injuries, and ensure that every motorist traveling through Indiana can reach their destination safely. Increased visibility and enforcement during high‑traffic holidays remain a key part of achieving that mission.
