BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Commissioners will convene for their first regular public meeting of the month on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Lawrence County Courthouse.
Commissioners are scheduled to act on several county contracts, review public project bids, and hear routine operational updates from local law enforcement and emergency management agencies.
Key Business and Agenda Highlights
- Southern Indiana Development Commission (SIDC) Bids: Michelle Carrico, Program Manager for the SIDC, is slated to appear before the board to formally open public bids for upcoming community project work.
- Veterans Affairs Software Contract: Commissioners will consider approving a software service agreement for VetraSpec—a specialized claims-management platform used by the Lawrence County Veterans Affairs Office to assist local military veterans with benefit tracking and filing.
- Sheriff’s Office Wellness Program: Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Major Brandon Blackwell will present a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to adopt the Magnus One Wellness Program, an initiative designed to provide mental health, wellness, and support resources for law enforcement officers and department staff.
