LAWRENCE COUNTY — The Lawrence County Commissioners approved and signed a five-year contract with Indiana University Health Lifeline EMS on Tuesday morning, securing comprehensive ground and air ambulance services for the county.
The newly approved agreement establishes a multi-year partnership with IU Health Lifeline to enhance emergency medical response across the region through 2031.
Under the terms of the five-year agreement, IU Health Lifeline will deploy dedicated emergency equipment and support assets to serve Lawrence County residents:
- Three Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances: Fully equipped ground units providing high-level emergency medical care.
- Two Chase Vehicles: Specialized rapid-response units designed to support field operations.
- Air Medical Coverage: Direct access to the IU Health Lifeline medical helicopter network for critical trauma transport and rapid care.
Five-Year Financial Breakdown
The total cost of the five-year contract is $2,630,000, structured with incremental annual adjustments over the duration of the agreement:
- 2027: $450,000
- 2028: $500,000
- 2029: $530,000
- 2030: $560,000
- 2031: $590,000
County officials stated that the partnership ensures reliable, high-quality emergency medical services and advanced critical care coverage for communities throughout Lawrence County.
