MITCHELL — The Mitchell Community Schools Board of Trustees will convene for an executive session on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Community Schools Administration Center, located at 441 North 8th Street in Mitchell.
According to a public notice issued Monday by Board President Krystal Shetler, the board will meet behind closed doors to address specific administrative, personnel, and legal matters as permitted under Indiana public meeting laws.
Executive Session Agenda Items
The subjects scheduled for discussion during the executive session include:
- To receive information about and interview prospective employees. Indiana Code § 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(5).
- To discuss the job performance evaluation of individual employees. Indiana Code § 5-14-1.5-6.1 (b)(9).
Under Indiana Open Door Law, executive sessions are closed to the general public to allow governing bodies to discuss sensitive matters such as personnel files, confidential litigation, and strategy regarding prospective hires. Any formal actions or final votes resulting from these discussions must be taken during a subsequent public meeting.
The current members of the Mitchell Community Schools Board of Trustees include Board President Krystal Shetler, Chris Shaw, Patrick Redman, Steve Burton, and Kyle Endris.
