What is the Municipal Unit Strategic Taskforce?

Formed under Indiana local income tax reform statutes, the Municipal Unit Strategic Taskforce brings together county officials, municipal leaders, and fiscal officers from local cities and towns.

The taskforce provides a structured forum for local government units to:

  • Evaluate shared funding structures and Local Income Tax (LIT) allocations.
  • Discuss community fiscal priorities, operational demands, and essential services.
  • Coordinate recommendations regarding future local government revenue decisions across municipalities and the county.

Members of the public are invited to attend and observe the proceedings as local leaders begin outlining the taskforce’s operational framework.
