George Michael Fountain, 74, of Norman died Sunday, August 9, 2026, at his residence.
Born July 27, 1952, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of George William and Wilma L. (Kinser) Fountain. He married Bonnie J. Hearth on May 6, 1972, and she preceded him in death on June 24, 2024. He was a graduate of Heltonville High School. George was a lifelong farmer, a truck driver; and a school bus driver for NLCS for many years.
George was a jack of all trades and could repair or build anything. He was a member of the Bartlettsville Christian Church. George loved his Lord Jesus Christ and his family, he never met a stranger and would share the gospel of Jesus with anyone he met. When asked how he was he would always smile and reply “Better than I deserve.”
George would like to thank his granddaughter Hannah for taking care of all his legal matters; and to his beautiful lady friend and companion, Beth Nicolson Wubben, was by his side through his illness. She was a great blessing, and he loved her very much.
Survivors include his fiancé, Beth Wubben; three sons: Michael Troy Fountain and wife Jamie, Eric Scott Fountain and wife Aimee, Cory Joe Fountain and wife Cassidy; six grandchildren: Hannah Fountain and fiancé Schuyler Lambrecht, William Fountain and wife Grace, Ella Fountain, Emma Fountain, Chloe Fountain, and Benjamin Fountain; great-grandchildren, Sadie, Clay, Layla, and McCrae; step-grandchildren, Jordan Tussey and husband Calvin, Luke Dalton and wife Dorian, Allie Deckard and husband Tyler; step great-grandchildren, Kamin, Karson, Klay, Liam, Millie, Lainey; a sister Paula Sue Brooking and husband Louis; an aunt, Belle Whitted; second parents, Annie and Gordon Hunt; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnie, and a step granddaughter, Allison Dalton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14th, in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary, with Tim Day and Taylor Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mundell Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13th, at Day & Carter Mortuary, and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.
George thanks his hospice nurses, Heather and Josie, for taking such great care of him.
