JACKSON AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces daily road closures for State Road 256 in Washington and Jackson Counties.
Beginning on or around Tuesday, August 4, crews will begin daily road closures on State Road 256 near Austin. Daily road closures will occur between I-65 and State Road 39.
Daily road closures will allow for bridge approach paving and repairs. Closures will occur beginning at 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. daily. This work is expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather.
The official detour for this project is U.S. 31 to State Road 250. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
