INDIANA — Federal safety regulators have issued a recall for select Evenflo child car seats over concerns that a moving headrest could fail to protect young passengers during a collision.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the safety action (NHTSA Recall ID 26C004) after determining that certain Evenflo Reo by Revolve360 child seats fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, which governs child restraint systems.
The Defect and Safety Hazard
According to the NHTSA safety report, the headrest on affected car seats can shift out of position during a crash while installed in certain rear-facing or forward-facing configurations.
If a headrest shifts unexpectedly during an impact, it can compromise the structural protection around a child’s head and neck, increasing the risk of injury.
The recall affects specific color variants of the Reo by Revolve360 model line, including:
- Nantucket
- Danvers
- Chelsea
- Holden
- Brookline
- Lenox

Evenflo is currently developing an official remedy to address the shifting headrest issue.
- Interim Notifications: Evenflo expects to mail interim notification letters to registered owners beginning August 17, 2026, alerting them to the safety risk.
- Final Fix: Once the repair or remedy kit is finalized, a second letter will be sent to affected owners detailing how to receive and implement the fix at no cost.
