Terre Haute man arrested for rape

WHITE COUNTY – Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation in May 2026, after receiving information about allegations of sexual assault.

The investigation revealed that Ryan B. Davenport, 53, Terre Haute, had allegedly forced himself on a female for sexual gratification.  He is being charged with rape, a Level 3 felony, and sexual battery, a Level 6 felony. This alleged incident took place in White County.

After reviewing the investigation, a White County Judge approved Davenport’s arrest. He was arrested yesterday and transported without incident to the White County Jail by Trooper Bonebrake of the Putnamville State Police Post and is currently being held without bond. 

Investigating Officer was Indiana State Police Master Trooper Detective Daniel Magnabosco of the Putnamville Post.  He was assisted by Trooper Detectives Don Curtis, Colton Maynor, and Sergeant Michael Featherling. 

Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
