William David Brinkworth, 72, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Red Crest Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born June 30, 1953, in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of Kenneth and Betty Rose (Walker) Brinkworth. Dave graduated from Mitchell High School in 1972. He married Lisa Branaman on August 7, 1999, and she survives.
Dave retired from White River Co-Op in 2018. After retirement, he was an avid woodworker, making custom furniture and setting up at various markets in the area.
He enjoyed woodworking, Cubs baseball, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Dave attended Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Lisa; children, Melissa (Catherine) Brinkworth, Joshua (Sarah) Chastain, Joseph (Brittany) Chastain, and Jade (Clay) Lumpe; grandchildren, Benjamin and Evening Chastain, Bella, Charlee, and Will Chastain, and Bo, Jack, and Hank Lumpe, and Naomi Purlee; sister, Vicki (Drexel) Turpin; half-brother, Clint (Lisha) Brinkworth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Limestone Chapel of George Funeral Care, 527 15th Street, Bedford, with Pastor Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday, at the Limestone Chapel, Bedford
Memorial contributions may be made to the White River Humane Society in memory of William “Dave” Brinkworth.
