Bedford City Offices announce closures and modified service schedules for Independence Day holiday

BEDFORD — City officials have released the official operations schedule for Bedford municipal services and offices in observance of the upcoming Independence Day holiday.

All Bedford City Offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, as city employees observe the national holiday. Normal business hours across all municipal departments will resume on Monday, July 6.

Residents who rely on local public transit or specific sanitation services should take note of the following scheduled disruptions and modifications:

  • Public Transit: Transit Authority of Stone City (TASC) buses will not be running on Friday, July 3. Full transit routes and scheduling will resume on Monday, July 6.
  • Regular Residential Trash: Despite the office closures, residential sanitation routes will remain unaffected. All Friday trash routes will be picked up exactly as regularly scheduled on July 3.
  • Special Sanitation Routes: The city’s Special Assistance, Rear Loader, and Compost collection routes will skip Friday pickup. Instead, these specific services will be collected on Monday, July 6.

Emergency services, including the Bedford Police Department and Bedford Fire Department, will remain fully operational and unaffected by the holiday closures.
