INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has announced alternative operating hours for all branches statewide in observance of the upcoming Independence Day holiday.

To ensure holiday adjustments do not disrupt essential transactions, state officials are urging Hoosiers to review the modified schedule ahead of time. Closure dates will vary depending on each branch’s standard weekly operating schedule.
Modified Independence Day Holiday Schedule
The holiday closures will be implemented as follows:
- Monday–Friday and Monday/Wednesday/Friday Branches: These locations will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026.
- Satellite and Tuesday–Saturday Branches: All satellite offices and branches that normally operate on Saturdays will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
- Resuming Operations: All BMV branches across the state will return to their regularly scheduled business hours on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Accessing Services During the Holiday Weekend
While physical branches will be locked for the holiday, the BMV reminds motorists that many routine services can still be completed remotely.
Hoosiers looking to renew a vehicle registration, order a driver’s license replacement, or pay specific fees can utilize the BMV’s 24/7 online portal. Additionally, BMV “Connect” kiosks located at select branches and partner grocery stores will remain operational for self-service transactions throughout the weekend.
For those requiring an in-person visit, individual and location-specific branch schedules remain available for review on the official Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles website.
