Obituary: Jeremy L. Longbrake

December 3, 1975 – June 15, 2026

Jeremy L. Longbrake, 50, of Seymour, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at his home in Seymour, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 3, 1975, in Lorain, Ohio, he was the son of Mark Alvin Longbrake and Rita Renee (Richmond) Williams. Jeremy attended Seymour High School.

Jeremy worked as a construction and concrete worker for many years before becoming a factory worker and lead shift supervisor in factories in Seymour and Walesboro, where he worked for twenty-seven years.

Jeremy loved and cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was a testament to love, dedication, and hard work. He enjoyed woodburning and pyrography, glass etching, camping, fishing, building things, working on cars, riding motorcycles, and simply spending time at home with his family.

Jeremy is survived by his wife, Shannon Longbrake of Seymour, IN; his children, Elena (David) Cooksey, Heather Altepeter, Blake Castro, Kylie (Matt) Fourman, Jamie (Caleb) Longbrake, Jocelyn Reynolds, Thomas Weddle, and bonus son Andy Hunter; his grandchildren, Ava, Rio, Gabrielle, Taygen, Scarlett, Gracelynn, Eleanor, Stevie, Lukas, and Leia; his father, Mark Alvin Longbrake; his mother, Rita Renee Williams; his brothers, Scott Longbrake, Curt Longbrake, and Nathan Williams; his sisters, Kathy (Jeremy) Robson and Torrie Longbrake; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Williams; his grandparents, Harold “Ray” and Lois Longbrake; and his grandfather, L.J. Richmond.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, with Jerel Richards officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes. Cremation rites have been chosen.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jeremy’s memory to the organization, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jon Pace and Scotty Wessel at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes in Seymour.
