Seymour woman killed in single-vehicle rollover crash in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY A Seymour woman lost her life on Monday afternoon following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Jackson County.

According to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at approximately 2:18 p.m. on Monday reporting a crash in the 3600 block of West County Road 225 North.

A preliminary investigation conducted by responding deputies determined that a 2002 Toyota Echo, driven by 26-year-old Angel Grider, of Seymour, was traveling westbound on County Road 225. For reasons detailed by investigators, Grider lost control of the vehicle. The Toyota Echo subsequently left the roadway and rolled several times into a field located on the north side of the road.

Sheriff’s department officials stated that Grider was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

In the department’s release, investigators noted that “aggressive, high-speed driving caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle”.

The fatal crash remains under active investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
