Boil Order issued for Sherfick School Road and surrounding areas

SHOALS — East Fork Water, Inc. has issued an immediate boil water order for a segment of its service area following an unexpected interruption in water service.

The order, effective immediately as of June 14, 2026, impacts residents living on Sherfick School Road and all surrounding areas, including the Doe Run area, who recently experienced a disruption or loss of water service.

Utility officials state that the precautionary measure will remain in effect for the next few days and will stand until further notice, pending water quality testing to ensure the safety of the supply.

Customers in the affected zones are urged to strictly adhere to the following safety guidelines until the order is officially lifted:

  • Boil Water Before Use: Bring all water to a vigorous boil for at least three minutes before consuming. Allow the water to cool completely and store it in the refrigerator in a clean, covered container.
  • Applicable Uses: Boiled or bottled water must be used for drinking, brushing teeth, diluting fruit juices, washing dishes, and all other food preparation.
  • Alternative Options: The use of bottled drinking water is highly recommended as a safe alternative during this period.

Updates will be released to the public as soon as testing confirms the water is safe for standard consumption.
