MITCHELL — The City of Mitchell Common Council has scheduled a special meeting for later this month to consider the annexation of two properties into the city limits.
Mitchell Mayor Don Caudell announced Wednesday that the council will convene for the special session on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at Mitchell City Hall, located at 407 S. 6th Street.
The primary purpose of the meeting is the consideration of an ordinance to annex two specific real estate parcels into the City of Mitchell:
- 8835 State Road 60 West: Also identified as Parcel No. 47-11-35-300-037.000-004.
- 2465 Old Hwy 60 West: Also identified as Parcel No. 47-11-35-300-041.000-004.
The ordinance will be reviewed by the five current members of the Mitchell Common Council, who are all serving terms that run through December 31, 2027. The council includes:
- Larry Caudell (Elected, term began Jan. 1, 2024)
- Chris Carlisle (Elected, term began Jan. 1, 2024)
- Zach Terrell (Appointed on Oct. 10, 2024, to fill the remaining term of Dan Terrell)
- Daniel Talbott (Elected, term began Jan. 1, 2024)
- George James (Elected, term began Jan. 1, 2024)
The meeting is open to the public.
