KNOX COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures for Hart Street in Knox County.
Beginning on or around Monday, June 1, crews will begin alternating lane closures on Hart Street in Vincennes. These lane closures will occur over U.S. 41 between Kimmel Road and Veterans Drive. Lane closures will also occur on all ramps connecting Hart Street to U.S. 41.
Alternating lane closures will allow for sidewalk improvements, curb and gutter work, guardrail upgrades, curb ramp installation, patching, and storm sewer construction. This work is expected to last through the beginning of August, depending on the weather.
One lane of traffic will remain open during alternating lane closures. Traffic signals will remain operation during work. However, these signals may be placed into a four-way flashing stop during work as needed.
This work is part of a larger project to improve U.S. 41 in Knox County. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
